My name is Peter, and ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by elevators and escalators. When I was just six years old, while staying at the now-defunct Pines Resort Hotel, I started riding elevators for fun, pretending that I was an elevator operator in a fancy building. I would ask other riders what floor they were headed to, and push the button for them.
My interest in elevators continued to grow over the years. I began freelancing as a photographer, and when I got a call from an elevator expert in New York asking for help capturing some hoistway and machine room photos, I jumped at the chance. Working in the elevator industry has literally been a childhood dream come true for me.
Confident that there are other people out there as interested in elevator technology as I am, I created this blog to share my photos and videos of the more memorable elevators I’ve had the pleasure of riding. I don’t have a favorite elevator – I love them all!
